How can we help?

ZYM is a social fitness app with two AI coaches, friend feeds, group chats, and Apple Health step tracking. If something is not working, this page lists the fastest ways to reach us and the most common questions we hear from new users.

1. Contact

The best way to reach the ZYM team is email: admin@zym8.com. We read every message and reply within two business days. To help us help you, please include:

  • Your account email or username inside ZYM.
  • iPhone model and iOS version (Settings → General → About).
  • What you were trying to do and what happened instead.
  • A screenshot or screen recording if possible.

2. Account & sign-in

I can’t sign in with my email and password.

Tap “Forgot password?” on the login screen to receive a reset link. If the email never arrives, check your spam folder, then write to admin@zym8.com with the email you registered with.

Sign in with Apple isn’t working.

Make sure you are signed into iCloud on your iPhone and that Sign in with Apple is enabled for ZYM under Settings → Apple ID → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple. If the problem persists, sign out and back into iCloud, then try again.

I never received the verification email after signing up.

Verification emails come from a no-reply ZYM address and can land in spam or the “Promotions” tab. Tap “Resend verification email” in the login screen, or write to us if you keep missing it.

3. AI coach

What is the difference between ZJ and LC?

ZJ is the encouraging, habit-first coach. LC is the strict, execution-first coach. You can switch between them at any time from your profile.

The coach is taking a long time to reply.

Coach replies are processed asynchronously, usually within 10–60 seconds. If a reply hasn’t arrived after several minutes, send a follow-up message — that retries the request. If it keeps failing, please contact us.

Can the coach see my chats with friends?

No. The coach can only see the conversations you have with it directly, plus the profile information you provide during onboarding. Direct messages and group chats with friends are private.

4. Apple Health & leaderboard

How does step tracking work?

With your permission, ZYM reads your daily step count from Apple Health and syncs it so your friends’ leaderboard updates. ZYM only reads step count — never heart rate, sleep, workouts, or any other HealthKit data — and never writes back to Apple Health.

I declined Apple Health permission. Can I change my mind?

Yes. Open the iOS Settings app, go to Privacy & Security → Health → ZYM and turn on the Steps category. Then return to ZYM and tap Sync inside the leaderboard.

My friends’ steps look out of date.

Friends’ step counts update when they open the ZYM app and tap Sync. If a friend hasn’t opened the app recently, their leaderboard entry will be stale.

5. Friends, groups & community

How do I add a friend?

Open the Friends area and tap the add icon. You can search by username, scan a friend-connect QR code, or share your own QR code with someone in person.

Can I leave a group?

Yes. Open the group, tap the group name at the top to open group details, then choose “Leave Group”.

How do reactions and comments work on posts?

Tap a post to open it. The heart button adds a reaction; the comment field lets you reply. Mentions with @ trigger a notification for that user.

6. Safety & moderation

How do I report another user?

Open the user’s profile from any message thread or community post, then tap Report. Our team reviews reports within 24 hours and takes action when the behaviour violates our community guidelines.

How do I block someone?

Open the user’s profile and tap Block. After confirming, you will no longer see their messages or posts, and they will not be able to start a new conversation with you. Blocks are silent — the other user is not notified.

I see content that should not be on ZYM.

Please report it using the in-app Report button, then email admin@zym8.com with details so we can investigate quickly.

7. Delete my account

You can delete your ZYM account from inside the iOS app. Open the Profile tab, scroll to the bottom, tap Delete account, then confirm. Your profile, posts, messages, and health data are removed from our servers. If you signed up with Sign in with Apple or Google, we also revoke the corresponding sign-in grant so the third party knows the connection is gone.

If you cannot reach this screen — for example because you have lost access to the account — email admin@zym8.com from the email address tied to the account and we will delete it for you.

8. Report a bug

We treat every bug report seriously. If something crashes, freezes, or behaves unexpectedly, please send us:

  • Your account email or username.
  • iPhone model and iOS version.
  • Steps to reproduce the problem.
  • Screenshot or screen recording when possible.
  • The approximate time the issue happened (helps us find logs).
